We are aware of recent reports concerning lockdowns and threats at several Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). We want to reassure our community that no threats have been made against our University at this time. Campus operations, to include classes, scheduled events, and daily activities, continue as scheduled. While we remain vigilant and prepared, the current environment is stable and secure.

Our University Police Department, in conjunction with local and federal law enforcement partners, regularly reviews campus security protocols to ensure they remain strong and effective. These precautionary measures are part of our continued commitment to ensuring the well-being of our students, faculty, and staff.

We encourage all campus community members to remain observant and report anything unusual, offensive, intimidating, or suspicious to the University Police Department at 936-261-1375, via the Rave Guardian app, or to any trusted faculty or staff member. Should the University receive any credible information concerning campus safety, the Panther Alert System will be activated to inform stakeholders of the situation and outline necessary emergency protocols. Your vigilance and engagement are essential to maintaining a safe, supportive environment for everyone on campus.
