Note:  A full listing of staff, faculty and graduate assistant titles and the pay plan structure are available on the University’s website at: http://www.pvamu.edu/hr/compensation-2/.

Language for the offer letter templates should not be changed as they contain details that are required by federal or state law and/or university policy or procedure. If you require changes to the offer letter for special circumstances, please contact the employmentteam@pvamu.edu prior to the offer letter being finalized and sent for the Vice President’s signature.

Faculty

New Hire (Staff)

  • Administrative Staff – Use this template for staff titles that are excluded from the System-Wide Pay Play such as Vice President, Assistant/Associate Vice President, Executive Director, Director or Assistant/Associate Director. To review which titles are excluded, review the list of System-Wide Pay Plan Titles and Pay Structure. All administrative positions are exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
  • Exempt Staff – Use this template if the position is exempt based on the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).  To determine if the position is exempt, review the list of System-Wide Pay Plan Titles and Pay Structure.
  • Non-Exempt StaffUse this template if the position is non-exempt based on the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).  To determine if the position is non-exempt, review the list of System-Wide Pay Plan Titles and Pay Structure.

Staff Transfers & Promotions

Please reference UAP 33.99.04.P0.01 Promotions, Transfers and Voluntary Moves  to determine if you staff hiring action in this category is an employee transfer or employee promotion.
