NSF RET SITE ON SMART GRID SYSTEMS FOR HIGH SCHOOL TEACHERS
OVERVIEW
This Research Experience for Teachers (RET) at Prairie View A&M University will train high school teachers and community college instructors in a variety of cutting edge technologies related to research in Smart and Connected cities in general, and smart grid systems in particular. Participants will work side-by-side with leading researchers at Prairie View A&M University with projects relating to Smart Grid Systems. Some possible projects include:
- Wireless Network System for Microgrid
- Battery Technologies for Photovoltaic Systems
- Solar Power Efficiencies
- Wind Power Data Analysis
- Bio-gas Production and Data Analysis
HIGHLIGHTS OF RET
- 6 Weeks summer research experience for teachers (June 18 to July 30, 2019)
- $6,000 stipends upon completion of the program
- Research opportunities in smart microgrid with experience mentors at Prairie View A&M University
- Teachers will incorporate hands-on SCC learning modules and develop long-term relationships with faculty and graduate students
