The Classic Dance Ensemble (CDE), Prairie View A&M University’s pre-professional collegiate dance company, invites dedicated and talented students to audition for the 2026–2027 performance season. CDE is open to male and female dancers from all majors who are committed to artistic growth, technical training, academic excellence, and representing Prairie View A&M University through performance and community engagement.
As the University’s premier concert dance company, members receive intensive training in ballet, contemporary modern dance, jazz, and other concert dance forms while working with faculty, guest artists, and professional choreographers. Dancers participate in university performances, community outreach initiatives, recruitment events, educational workshops, collaborative productions, and regional and national performance opportunities.
Auditioning dancers should demonstrate:
-A strong work ethic and commitment to artistic excellence
-Technical proficiency and performance potential
-Professionalism, discipline, and reliability
-A willingness to learn and grow in a collaborative environment
-The ability to balance academic responsibilities with rehearsal and performance commitments
