Scholarship Description:
The students must demonstrate interest in cybersecurity education and research. The scholarship recipients will work under the supervision of designated faculty members in the College of Business, College of Juvenile Justice and Psychology, and the Cybersecurity (SECURE) center. They must participate in various planned cybersecurity educational activities such as learning different software tools (e.g. INFOSEC, CyberBit and Spirent’s CyberFlood) and give presentations at various workshops organized by the SECURE center. The scholarship recipients must also participate in PVAMU’s Cyber Challenge team and willing to undertake summer internship programs. They are also expected to enroll in relevant courses (including newly developed courses in cybersecurity) in the Emergency Management and Crisis Informatics minor program.
Requirements:
• Non-STEM Undergraduate Sophomore or higher (no major specific)
• 3.00 GPA minimum
• US citizen
Preferred Education & Experience:
• Interested in cybersecurity and enrolling in the EMCI program
