Parking Management would like to remind all faculty, staff, and students that piggybacking or tailgating through
gated parking facilities is strictly prohibited.
Each vehicle must use its own valid credential to enter a gated parking lot. Following another vehicle through a gate
without proper authorization creates safety and security concerns and may result in damage to university equipment.
Please note:
Drivers who piggyback through a gate may be subject to citation and/or held responsible for any resulting
damages.
Any damage caused to a gate or gate arm due to piggybacking will be charged to the responsible individual or
department. The average cost to replace a gate arm starts at $3,000.
Gates are monitored to ensure safety and access compliance.
We appreciate your cooperation in helping maintain a safe and secure campus parking environment. If you experience
difficulty accessing a gate, please contact Parking Management for assistance rather than following another vehicle
through a gate, as this is a violation of University policy.
Thank you for your cooperation
