Gordon Food Service (GFS), the largest family-operated broad-line food distribution company in North America, has teamed up with Prairie View A&M University’s (PVAMU) College of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources (CAFNR) to offer a 10-week paid internship opportunity for students. The internship will provide students with the chance to experience all the different functions of GFS, journeying through a different department each week.

Last Wednesday, representatives from GFS visited CAFNR to inform students about GFS expanding into the Texas market and their summer internships. Cindy Quarles, Regional Manager who has been with the company for almost 16 years, and her team set up an information table where students could learn about the wide range of careers GFS has to offer. Additionally, a Lunch and Learn session was held, allowing students to hear from the representatives and receive advice on expanding their careers.

During the internship, interns will learn what each department does, how they do it, and how their work plays into the overall picture of the company. This is a great opportunity for students to gain valuable hands-on experience and learn directly from industry professionals.

We would like to extend a special thanks to the entire GFS team for their efforts in organizing this event and providing such an incredible opportunity to PVAMU students.
