Academic researchers, industry professionals, and scholars from more than 13 countries across the world are headed to Prairie View A&M University for the 29th Annual Conference of the International Information Management Association (IIMA) and the 5th Annual Conference of the International Conference on Information and Economic Development (ICITED) October 8-10, 2018. Attendees will be a part of various presentations, workshops, and panel sessions focused on examining how information technology is aiding modern society to tackle complex problems in a smart way.  This year’s conference will be IIMA and ICITED’s second joint conference and the first IIMA/ICITED conference held at PVAMU in nearly ten years.

The goal is to promote the dynamic exchange of ideas among leading researchers, educators, developers and practitioners who share their research and disseminate innovations in education, business, and government.  “For academic researchers, this is a great chance for discovering new research directions, interacting with other researchers and professionals. For students, this is a great time for learning the latest technology and research trends as well as finding job opportunities,” said Conference Chair Emmanuel Opara, PVAMU College of Business professor. “For industrial professionals, this is a wonderful opportunity for inspiring new ideas, recruiting students, and networking with researchers.”

Keynote speakers include:

  • Dave Clark, Senior Consultant with the Texas Organization of Rural & Community Hospitals;
  • Ian Allison, Dean of Computing, Engineering and Physical Sciences at the University of the West of Scotland;
  • Ned Penley, Program Planning and Control (PP&C) Manager for the Orion Program at NASA;
  • Victor Lawrence, Senior Advisor to the Cyber Security and Information Communication Systems Research Center.
