Dear Students,
It is with deep regret that I inform you about the death of one of our Prairie View A&M University students on Saturday, August 26, 2023. Our fallen Panther is De’ja N. Prater, a junior majoring in accounting. She was born in Cottonport, LA, and resided in Fort Worth, TX, before coming to Prairie View A&M University to pursue her bachelor’s degree.
During this trying time, our deepest condolences and thoughts are with De’ja’s family, friends, and loved ones.
Students needing counseling regarding this incident may contact the University Crisis Hotline at 936-553-0990. Additionally, Counseling Services will be available on campus at the Owens-Franklin Health Center.
Information on funeral arrangements will be provided when it becomes available.
