Dr. Betty Adams, dean of the College of Nursing at Prairie View A&M University, was recognized on Friday, August 24, 2018, as one of the Top 30 Influential Women of Houston by d-mars.com. The honorees were selected from a diverse group of women in Houston who encompass tenacity, disciple, diligence and high success in their respective fields as well as their contribution to the community. Adams is the recipient of the Honorable Sheila Jackson Lee Community Achievement Award and has made a significant impact on the College of Nursing. Serving as a mentor to many, Adams has dedicated more than 18 years to the College of Nursing and has taken the lead in the expansion of the college’s programs at the baccalaureate, master’s and doctoral levels. Her most profound contribution has been her leadership in designing and administering nursing programs.
