The division of Mechanic Arts offered special two-year courses in some trade industries including Automobile Mechanics, Broom and Mattress making, Carpentry and Cabinet Making, Laundering and Dry Cleaning, Shoe Repairing, Printing and Linotype Operation, and more. The curriculum in Industrial Arts Education was designed to prepare students for positions such as supervisors and directors of training school in Industrial Arts, teachers in high schools, colleges, and trade schools; also to give technical training and experience in shop work and drafting preparatory to entering the industry. The Printing program included classes in Hand Composition, Presswork, Linotype Operating and Mechanism, Cylinder Paperwork, Print Shop Management, Estimating and Cost Finding, and Practical Bookbinding.
