The theme, Texas Youth Check-Up: Status of Youth Violence and Juvenile Justice is the highlight of the Spring Royce West Forum & Lecture Series on April 28, 2017. The spring series will present a report card on the status of youth violence and juvenile justice looking at Texas in comparison to the rest of the nation. The invited panelists will address the challenges that youth in Texas face related to violence and the juvenile justice system and offer perspectives on prevention initiatives, policies, and programs for youth violence. Panelists include: Ms. Kimberly Williams, Houston Health Department; Mr. Jay Jenkins, Texas Criminal Justice Coalition; Mr. Patrick Bresette, Children’s Defense Fund – Texas; and Mr. Victor Obaseki, Institute for Urban Policy & Research, UT-Austin (tentative).
