The International Conference on Zoology & Medical Parasitology extended an invitation to Dr. Rahmat Attaie, Research Scientist in the Cooperative Agricultural Research Center (CARC), to present his work on antibiotic residual at their upcoming meeting to be held in Chicago, USA, on October 30-1 November, 2017. This work was published in the Journal of Dairy Science.

The main goal of this work was to determine residual presence of the antibiotic oxytetracycline in the milk of three breeds of goats and also explore its safe withdrawal period in lactating goats. The results of this study indicated that oxytetracycline was not stable in raw goat’s milk at refrigeration temperature or during pasteurization and that the concentrations decreased significantly. They also indicate that if oxytetracycline was present in raw goat’s milk, the concentration would decrease significantly before it was marketed. The invitation recognizes the quality of the work conducted by CARC scientists.
