Joshua Flowers is a junior Finance major from Missouri City, TX who recently received the Financial Executives International (FEI) Houston’s Academic Scholarship for 2018, in the amount of $5,000. Selected as one of twelve students from Houston-area universities, Flowers has been invited to spend the day, Feb 20th, touring Daikin manufacturing plant and distribution facility (Goodman Mfg.), in Waller, then return to the Houston Country Club for panel discussions and an evening program.
Flowers said he was “pretty happy” to receive the scholarship from FEI and looks forward to meeting the other scholarship recipients. He is also excited to visit the Daikin factory to tour and learn more about what they do. “From my research, they do some pretty good things,” said Flowers. Upon arrival to the Houston Country Club that evening, FEI will also host a Social Hour, where scholarship winners have the opportunity to meet FEI officers and members and take photos with school faculty. “It promises to be an enjoyable event for all attendees, with plenty of opportunities to network and gain valuable business insights,” said Tony Maresca, FEI Academic Relations Committee. The evening will conclude with a dinner program and chapter meeting, where scholarship winners will formally be recognized and receive their awards.
