What are Micro-credentials?

A micro-credential is a verified recognition of a specific, in-demand skill or competency. Delivered through Coursera and other approved learning pathways, it results in a digital badge that can be showcased on LinkedIn and shared with employers and professional networks.

  • Powered by Coursera — a globally recognized online learning platform
  • Integrated into Canvas LMS for seamless access
  • Available both within courses and as stand-alone credentials
  • Students retain access to their credentials after graduation
  • Upon completion, students receive a verified digital badge they can display directly on their LinkedIn profile — a visible, employer-recognized proof of their skills
  • Focused on career readiness, applied skills, and industry alignment

Why Micro-credentials Matter

  • Increase your competitiveness in the job market
  • Develop marketable skills recognized by top employers
  • Earn stackable micro-credentials leading to a professional certificate
  • Strengthen career readiness before graduation
  • Expand workforce development opportunities and employer alignment
