The College of Nursing Centennial Celebration 2019-2022 is highlighted during Homecoming Week 2019 – Home is Where the Hill is. As for all students, celebrations continued on Monday, October 14, 2019. Recognition of the elected Mr. and Miss College of Nursing, Tramaine Wilson and Emily Ligon was indeed memorable. Over 100 students participated in the party in the college auditorium, which was decorated with purple and gold balloons.

Students were wide-eyed and attentive as the Director of Admissions and Student Services, Dr. Forrest Dent Smith, defined the Occasion and introduced the Dean of the College, Betty N. Adams. Dr. Adams presented the two students with certificates, which began their reign, and opened Homecoming Week for the nursing students. Many students, faculty, and staff donned in their PV attire enjoyed hot dogs, nachos, and a homecoming cake, as they fellowshipped, listened to music and took pictures with the College Royalty. Mr. and Miss College of Nursing will participate in the PVAMU Coronation Ceremony on Wednesday night, and join their constituents for the Homecoming Pep Rally on Thursday in the college’s auditorium. As has been the case in the past, the College of Nursing, Prairie View Student Nurses Association (PVSNA), and the Prairie View Nurses Alumni Chapter partner, along with nursing students, faculty and staff to participate in the Homecoming Parade. Representing Nursing will be an alumni car, a gorgeous float with student leaders and nursing royalty, and a walking group of nursing students and alumni. They will distribute candy and College of Nursing information and promotional items to the parade crowds.
