The Varie Thomas Winters Moore Scholarship Fund was established in 2008 by her children in memory of their mother and her commitment to educating deserving underprivileged youths. The scholarship fund is designed to provide scholarships to students in need of a financial assistant to further their educations. All scholarships are based on financial need, merit, academic record, community service, leadership, and participation in school activities. The scholarship fund awarded two $1000.00 scholarships in 2020. No scholarships were awarded in 2021 due to Covid-19. The scholarship fund leadership plans to award four $1000.00 scholarships in the academic year 2021-2022.

DEADLINE:
All application packages must be submitted by April 5, 2022. Scholarship winners will be announced on April 30, 2022.
CRITERIA:
- Current high school senior or recent high school graduate (within the past year) plans to attend an accredited college, university, or technical school in the fall.
- Scholarship award must be used within 12 months after award.
- Award recipient must earn and maintain an overall 2.5 higher grade point average.
- Awards are presented at the annual scholarship fund banquet.
