Under Texas S.B. 459, which took effect on September 1, 2023, institutions providing early/priority registration for any student population must also provide early registration for parenting students in the same manner. A parenting student is defined as a student enrolled at an institution of higher education who is the parent or legal guardian of a child under 18 years of age.
