Prairie View A&M University’s Governor Bill and Vara Daniel Farm and Ranch provided the perfect setting for the Earth Day celebration for the Houston-based TWST4Girls group.

The organization brought 36 students from grades 6-12 to the farm Saturday to learn about farm operations, agriculture, and the PVAMU College of Agriculture and Human Sciences (CAHS). The group visited the new greenhouses, the strawberry field plot, and the pepper hoop house. The participants also participated in a planting session.

The TWST4Girls Group was started in 2014 and helps youth from ages 11-17 discover and achieve their goals through one-on-one mentorship, life skills development, career exposure, and cultural experiences.
