PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (June 23, 2026) – “At Prairie View A&M University, leadership is not just a title. It is a disposition that shapes how we think, how we serve, and how we inspire one another in support of our mission.”
With those words, Dr. Michael L. McFrazier, senior vice president for Strategy and Transformation, introduced PV Elevate in a letter to the PVAMU campus community. The initiative supports the development and career progression of faculty and staff while advancing the University’s Journey to Eminence Strategic Plan, 2035.
PV Elevate serves as a university-wide framework that brings together leadership development, skill-building, and other professional growth efforts into a coordinated approach for employee development. It is designed to ensure that opportunities for learning are intentional, connected, and responsive to the needs of the campus community.
The initiative was developed in support of the University’s strategic commitment to building a high-performing, future-ready workforce. It aims to strengthen leadership at all levels, support employee engagement and retention, and align individual growth with institutional goals.
PV Elevate is led by a cross-functional leadership development team within the Division of Strategy and Transformation and is supported by multiple departments across the University, including Human Resources.
Learning and Development Resources
A key component of PV Elevate is LinkedIn Learning, a self-directed professional development platform available at no cost to PVAMU faculty and staff. Through single sign-on access, employees can explore courses focused on leadership, technology, and creative skills.
The platform has been customized to align with PVAMU’s learning pillars and provides flexible, on-demand opportunities for employees to build skills that support their roles and career goals.
In addition to online learning, the initiative emphasizes applied learning experiences that extend beyond traditional training models. It incorporates mentorship, coaching, and real-world development opportunities designed to support long-term professional growth through clear development pathways.
The first offering under PV Elevate is a Summer Series focused on strengthening core competencies for both supervisors and non-supervisory staff. Additional leadership development programs are in the final stages of development and are expected to launch in July 2026. These programs are designed to support employees who translate the University’s vision into action and drive institutional results, as well as those seeking to expand their communication skills and leadership capacity.
As PV Elevate continues to grow, additional professional and leadership development opportunities will be introduced for faculty and staff. Together, these efforts reinforce PVAMU’s commitment to leadership development and to fostering a culture where leadership is practiced every day across the institution.
Faculty and staff can learn more about PV Elevate through the program website and access LinkedIn Learning through the University’s dedicated portal.
