PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (Oct. 17, 2026) – Prairie View A&M University’s 2026 Homecoming raised more than $6.1 million in gifts and commitments, setting a fundraising record as the University celebrates its 150th anniversary.

The largest fundraising total in PVAMU Homecoming history reflects the support of alumni, individual donors and corporate partners investing in the University’s future. Among the contributions are gifts for endowed student scholarships, which provide ongoing financial support for future generations of Panthers, and corporate gifts supporting University programs.

Gifts invest in student success

For some donors, supporting PVAMU means helping open doors for the next generation of students. Regina and Kevin Jones ’96 made a $1.5 million commitment to establish the Kevin and Regina Jones Legacy of Leadership Endowed Scholarship, providing scholarship support to deserving PVAMU students.

Kimberlye ’91 and Stephen Littleton established a $1 million endowment to support the Black Foxes, Marching Storm, Honors College, and Mental Health Programs at PVAMU to enrich the PVAMU experience for generations to come.

The Estate of Gloria Moses ’54 contributed $1 million to support undergraduate and graduate students, and an anonymous donor gave $1 million for student scholarships.

The Golden Class of 1976 contributed more than $102,000 toward an endowed scholarship. As PVAMU celebrates its 150th anniversary, the class’s contribution connects generations of Panthers through continued support for student education.

Corporate partners also contributed to the record total. Shell gave $857,500, and Dow contributed $644,000 to support University programs and priorities.

“This historic $6.1 million Homecoming fundraising milestone is a powerful testament to the unwavering commitment of our alumni, corporate partners and supporters of Prairie View A&M University,” said Jeff Shaw, vice president for University Advancement.

“As we celebrate 150 years of excellence, these contributions represent more than financial generosity. They are lasting investments in student success and the future of our institution,” Shaw said. “Through endowed scholarships and strategic partnerships, we are removing financial barriers, expanding educational opportunities, and advancing the priorities of our Journey to Eminence: 2035 strategic plan.”

The $6.1 million Homecoming milestone contributes to PVAMU’s broader efforts to raise $15 million for its 150th anniversary, a fundraising initiative that continues through July 2027.
