How did being a part of these organizations make your PVAMU experience better?
It was truly incredible; I learned how to adapt to spaces I wasn’t initially comfortable with. It opened the door to getting to know people, being more vocal around campus, making new friends, and obtaining opportunities. My organizations were a true highlight for me.

PVAMU Office for Marketing and Communications, Houston Dynamo Fan Engagement and Marketing, Houston Dynamo/Dash Media Operations
How do you feel your internship(s) helped you achieve your overall career goals?
It’s been very beneficial in helping me navigate what my true passion is in communications. I’ve learned several important tactics, organizational skills, professional and leadership skills, etc. My internships taught me how the real world is and how not to drown once I find a career. They opened doors for me and made my resume what it is today.
What does PVAMU have that other universities do not?
Dependable alumni, and not in the ways of just money; they give us their time, open up opportunities and teach us valuable lessons. Moreover, the spirit of campus – I’ll never forget the feeling you get while walking on campus.
What was your most outstanding achievement while attending PVAMU?
Making the Dean’s and Honor Roll lists every semester, my internship, my collegiate status on campus, and ultimately getting out of my shell. PVAMU taught me how to be a proud and confident black woman in society.
Do you have any advice for others coming behind?
Never let the feeling of everything being too much stop the greatness destined in front of you!
