Lieutenant Palomo is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In May 2018, she graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology, concentrating in Cell and Molecular Genetics (CMG), and minored in Muslim Societies. She commissioned as an Ensign through the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) program in 2018.
Following commissioning, Ensign Palomo reported to Naval Aviation Schools Command in Pensacola, Florida, in August 2018 to begin flight training. She completed primary flight training with VT-3 and was selected for the rotary-wing pipeline. She earned her Wings of Gold in April 2021 upon graduation from HT-18.
Lieutenant Palomo reported to HSM-41 aboard Naval Air Station North Island for Fleet Replacement Squadron (FRS) training in the MH-60R Seahawk. Upon completion, she reported to HSM-37 in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, in April 2022.
While assigned to HSM-37, Lieutenant Palomo deployed aboard USS Wayne E. Meyer (DDG 108) in support of the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group’s 2023 deployment to the Indo-Pacific region. In 2024, she deployed again with the Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Groups, serving as the Detachment Maintenance Officer aboard USS Michael Murphy (DDG 112) during operations in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility. In this role, she provided critical leadership and oversight of aircraft maintenance and readiness in support of sustained combat and maritime operations.
Throughout her operational tours, Lieutenant Palomo has flown a wide range of real-world missions including High Value Unit Boarding Search and Seizure (HVBSS) support, Strike Coordination and Reconnaissance (SCAR), Low Slow Flyer (LSF) detection and interdiction, anti-submarine warfare (ASW), surface surveillance coordination (SSC), and multinational maritime exercises.
Lieutenant Palomo is qualified as an MH-60R Aircraft Commander, Mission Commander, and Functional Check Pilot (FCP).
Her personal awards include the Combat Action Ribbon, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various unit and campaign awards.
