Professional Experience

Selena D. Tate is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership & Counseling, where she has been a faculty member at PVAMU since the summer of 2017. Dr. Tate completed her M.A. in Marriage and Family Counseling/Therapy and Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision with a concentration in Marriage and Family Counseling/Therapy at The University of Akron. She did her undergraduate work in music therapy at Sam Houston State University. Her research focus is on family violence and mental health wellness.
