Our Purpose

In compliance with all applicable State of Texas and federal laws, the Consortium’s primary focus is to be a resource for faculty, community members, administrators, centers, museums, and organizations engaged in or seeking to do work on the impact of slavery and race. The organization is committed to truth-seeking and telling through historical research, documenting the lived experience, preservation, establishing community partnerships, and creating platforms where the data collected can be shared with open access to all.
