Engineering Technology Mechatronics Concentration Development

The overall deliverable of the Engineering Technology Mechatronics Concentration is a set of activities within our existing programs in Electrical Engineering Technology (ELET) and Computer Engineering Technology (CPET) to provide knowledge and hands on experience of mechanical and electronic systems. Mechatronics more generally includes the synergistic interaction of any combination of:

  • Electronic Systems
  • Control Systems
  • Computers and Microcontrollers
  • Mechanical Systems

This combination of technologies provides a solid technical basis for our students to succeed in almost any manufacturing, design or maintenance work environments. The purpose of the project is to prepare Engineering Technology students with the hardware, process control and software skills that are in demand, particularly in the manufacturing, process automation, or oil and gas work environments.
