Enhancement of Undergraduate and Graduate Biology Programs

BIO 2010 and other research groups have expressed the need for innovative instruction and refinement of curriculums on the collegiate level. This call for change has been stimulated by the completion of the human genome project, need for qualified underrepresented biological researchers and the development of innovative technologies for the identification and quantitative measurement of biomolecules. The purpose of this activity is to develop new courses and purchase new technology that will complement the presentation of the undergraduate/graduate genetics and cell biology courses. Specifically topics of synthetic biology and microarray analysis will be added to the curriculum.
