Dr. Megan E. Collins

Dr. Megan Elizabeth Collins received her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX in 2008. She completed her graduate studies at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX earning a Master of Science (2010) and Doctor of Philosophy (2014) in Sociology. Dr. Collins has experience serving the local community as she was previously employed with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and has been a Big Sister since 2008. Her strong passion for teaching and serving students continued in her role as a Graduate Assistant Career Advisor for the Texas A&M University Career Center from 2009-2011. Dr. Collins previously taught at Blinn College in Bryan, TX from 2013-2014 and began serving Prairie View A&M University in August 2014. She is currently working towards publishing her dissertation research on reality television, narcissism and the false self. Other research interests include: pop culture, culture, media and classical and contemporary theory.
