Our vision is to be recognized leaders in college recreation and our values are in direct alignment with strategic goals of the NIRSA: Leaders in Collegiate Recreation.

The primary mission of Recreational Sports is to enhance the mind, body, and spirit of students and other eligible individuals by providing programs, services, and facilities that are responsive to the physical, social, recreational, and lifelong educational needs of the campus and surrounding community as they relate to health, fitness, and learning.

In addition to serving our students, the Department of Intramural and Recreational Sports is committed to serving university employees. Our approach to employee wellness is to provide health wellness information and access to programs and services that promote fitness and wellness. We support the National Coalition for Promoting Physical Activity vision, “that one day, all Americans will be physically active and they will live, work, and play in environments that facilitate regular physical activity. By supporting employee health and wellness initiatives in the workplace, companies can improve employee morale, increase productivity, enhance work quality, and reduce staggering health care cost.”

It is our hope that this website answers your questions and provides valuable information about the PVAMU Intramural and Recreational Sports fitness, wellness, and leadership offerings.
