Know the Signs
Am I a victim/survivor?
Have you been:
Forced or pressured to have sex (or engage in any sexual activity) against your will?
Manipulated to participate in any sexual activity without giving your consent (this includes being unable to give “legal” consent because of the ingestion of alcohol and/or drugs)?
Too scared to say “no” to sexual activity with your partner because you felt threatened or afraid that you would be harmed if you did not participate?
Coerced into engaging in any sexual activity when you were underage?
Fooled into having sex prior to knowing that your partner did not wear a condom or had an STD?
Pressured to engage in sexual activity after hearing statements such as:
“If you really loved me, you’d have sex with me.”
“I didn’t think you were such a prude.”
“But we’ve had sex before.”
“If you don’t have sex with me, I’ll find someone who will.”
“I’ll tell everyone that you’re gay if you don’t have sex with me.”
“I’ll spread rumors about you if you don’t have sex with me.”
“But you’ve been flirting with me the whole night.”
