Clubs Sports (8)

Our club sports program provides the ability to be competitive against clubs from other collegiate institutions at the state, regional, and national level in a wide variety of sports. PVAMU currently has men’s & women’s rugby, tennis, women’s volleyball, men’s soccer, men’s & women’s basketball, power-lifting, and gaming club. To fund the cost of travel, equipment, and some tournaments, clubs may charge dues and participate in fundraising activities.

Sport clubs allow students to get together regularly to participate in an activity they love, though they do not meet as often or for as long as varsity teams. Sport clubs are typically managed and run by the participants themselves, including coach selection, travel, fundraising, scheduling, practices, and participant development. Sport clubs bridge the gap between intramural and intercollegiate athletics by providing competition at specialized levels, participation in tournaments, and opportunities to practice. The majority of the emphasis is on student leadership. Students are primarily responsible for all aspects of operating and managing a successful and competitive organization. As a result, PVAMU Club Sports provides an opportunity for students to develop leadership, social and athletic skills and abilities that can be used for a lifetime.
