Can Financial Aid or Scholarships Pay for Housing?
Yes, financial aid and or scholarships can pay for your housing. However financial aid and/or scholarships do not cover your housing application, housing deposit or your prepayment fee requirements. Contact the leasing office of the property of choice to submit a financial aid deferment form.
How do I get my deposit back if I did not receive a room?
You must submit a Deposit Refund Request via email to the business office of the property to which you submitted the deposit. If you applied to multiple housing locations you must submit a request to each location you applied with.
Does PVAMU Offer Family Housing?
Family housing is offered at our University View and University Square properties only.
What do I do if I have a housing hold on my account?
Housing holds are due to unpaid housing balances. Contact the business office of the property where you resided for details and instructions on how to remove the hold. If you are unsure of the property please send a Hold Review Request to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Are freshmen required to live on campus?
(The key to a good finish is a good start) Your first year is just as important as your last year, therefore we encourage all freshmen that reside more than 50 miles from campus to live on campus. The University freshmen housing is tailored to freshmen success by providing a hands-on living and learning environment. On-campus living is an experience unlike any other.
Are my parents notified of my account activity?
The required grantor for a minor is notified of all housing business pertaining to their student. We ask parents to understand that University Housing needs to work with the student. It is a valuable growth opportunity for students to learn to successfully address business themselves.
What do I do if I have a roommate issue?
All assistance should first be shared with your CA (community assistant). If you feel the need to escalate your concerns please feel free to contact you property manager and or email the Department of Residence Life at email@example.com. We ask parents to understand that University Housing needs to work directly with the student(s) when problems arise. It is a valuable growth opportunity for students to learn to successfully address conflicts themselves. If your student needs assistance, encourage him or her to contact the CA first, and if necessary, the manager.
Can freshmen have a car on campus?
While the university provides transportation on campus and some surrounding areas, all students are permitted to have a vehicle. Please note all vehicles must have a parking decal.
I applied for housing what do I do next?
You will be notified of your next steps via email. As a reminder, housing is filled on a first come first serve bases so it is very important that you respond in a timely manner. (always check your spam) Visit “How to Apply” for more information
