If such non-resident students reside in the state while gainfully employed for a period of 12 consecutive months prior to the semester that they are applying for residency, upon re-entry to the institution they will be entitled to be considered for reclassification as residents for tuition purposes.<\/p>\n<p>Reclassification to resident status after residing in the state for 12 months cannot be based solely upon the student\u2019s employment. Materials to this determination are business or personal facts or actions that indicate a fixed intention to reside permanently in the state of Texas. All items required to complete an application must be received by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions by closing date to assure consideration for admission.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How do I get an application fee waiver?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A fee waiver may be submitted in lieu of the $40 fee by first time freshmen students only. The university accepts only ACT, SAT, or NACAC fee waivers which can be obtained from the high school counselor.<\/p>\n<h2>Changing Program of Study\/Major<\/h2>\n<p><strong>How do students change their program of study\/major after they have submitted their admissions application?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A student may submit a request for change of major to the Admissions Office prior to enrollment.\u00a0They must put this request in writing either by mail or email to an Admissions Officer so that the change can take place.\u00a0If a student has already been admitted and enrolled, then they will have to follow the procedure through the Registrar\u2019s Office.\u00a0That is to complete the Change of Major Form, acquire the proper signatures from the Dean and Department Heads for approval, and then submit that form back to the Registrar\u2019s Office for processing.<\/p>\n<h2>Deadlines\/Timelines<\/h2>\n<p><strong>How long does it take to process an application in your system?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Once all requested documents have been submitted and actually received by the Admissions Office, it will be 10 business days before a student will receive any type of correspondence vial USPS mail.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What are the Undergraduate Admissions Application deadlines?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A completed application for admission is required and must be submitted to the Undergraduate School\u00a0by the following deadlines:<\/p>\n<p>*Note, a $15 Late fee will be applied to applications submitted after the associated date.<\/p>\n<p>Domestic Students<\/p>\n<p>June 1 for the Fall Semester<\/p>\n<p>November 1 for the Spring Semester<\/p>\n<p>April 1 for the Summer Term<\/p>\n<p><strong>What happens if my file is not complete by the deadline date?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The deadline date only applies to the submission of the Apply Texas online application.\u00a0Additional requested materials may still be submitted after the deadline.\u00a0The prospective student will have to come to the Main Campus and fill out a paper application if they would still like to apply after the deadline<\/p>\n<h2>Reapplication<\/h2>\n<p><strong>If I am a former student, do I fill out another application?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yes, a student will have to fill out a second application and pay another fee if they plan on returning to the university after process?<\/strong><br \/>\nOnce a student has been denied, they have the option of appealing their Admissions Decision.\u00a0The student will have to write a written appeal to Academic Appeals Committee and submit the letter via email or fax to the address or number listed in the Denial Letter.<\/p>\n<p>All appeals are handled by an external committee not comprised of admission officers.\u00a0 Once that process is completed, a list is submitted to the Admissions Office and\u00a0they send an acceptance letter if approved.\u00a0 The denial letter gives an email and fax number of the committee person to contact if the students\u00a0have any questions.\u00a0 If a decision has been made and the student is accepted, it is posted on SAAADMS: Admission Decision-FA (FR Appeal) or
