Fuel Cell

Prairie View A & M Roy G. Perry College of Engineering has won a grant of a electrical car, GM Electrical Vehicle 1 (EV1). Service manuals, owner’s manuals, and a general assembly drawing were also provided. The car was given as immobile, meaning that certain components were disabled or removed.
The overall goal of this project is to convert this electrical car into a fuel cell powered one, future generation vehicle. This requires a fuel cell power system design that could play an important role in fuel cell development.

    – heat treated to 32 RC
    – yield strength of 1640 MPa

  • 19 & 25 teeth splines
