TITLE: EXPLORING THE DRIVERS OF BLACK AMERICAN WOMEN’S PERCEPTIONS OF FEMALE LEADERSHIP AND THE QUEEN BEE PHENOMENON IN HUMAN RESOURCES
ABSTRACT: In the current business landscape, Human Resource Management (HRM) stands as a pivotal department within organizations but has had a troubled history, marked by periods when it was viewed as a less desirable department by marginalized groups. This study will aim to explore several key areas: The Queen Bee phenomenon, in-group discrimination, female bullying, and the specific experiences of Black American women in HRM roles. The research aims to encompass a broad population base of 1,000 respondents, with a minimum targeted sample size of 300 Texas participants to ensure statistically significant findings that reflect the broader population’s experiences. Multivariate Analysis will be used to control for age and years of work experience, while factor analysis will assess the likelihood of undesirable perceptions of female bosses.
