Greetings!

We have some exciting news to share with you regarding the scholarship opportunities with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF)!

The first wave of our 2025-2026 scholarship cycle is now open and we want to be sure to get the word out to as many students as possible. TMCF’s mission is to ensure student success by promoting educational excellence and preparing the next generation of workforce talent through leadership development, and what better way to ensure student success than by alleviating the worries of financial stress!

What’s New?

 This year, we’ve made it even easier to apply for TMCF Scholarships:

  • One-Stop Scholarship Portal – All TMCF scholarships are now accessible in a single platform, allowing students to submit applications, track progress, and receive updates all in one place. 

  • Best Practice Webinar – Join us on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. EST for a live session on how to navigate the new portal and submit a strong application. Registration is required. Click here to reserve your spot!

  • Virtual Office Hours Starting March 18th! – Need help or have a question regarding your application? Drop in during our Virtual Office Hours to speak with a Scholarship Manager and get your questions answered. No registration is required – click here to access the full schedule and QR code to join!

Scholarship Timeline and Key Dates

TMCF has updated our application process to feature two waves of scholarships. These timelines have changed from previous years, please encourage your students to plan ahead to ensure they don’t miss any deadlines!

Wave 1 (Access Scholarships)

  • Application Open: March 17, 2025*

  • Application Close: April 25, 2025 at 11:59 EST

  • Review Period: May – June 2025

  • Award Disbursement: July – September 2025**

*With the exception of the McDonald’s Black & Positively Golden Scholarship, which opened on Monday, November 11, 2024 and Sanofi’s Next Gen Scholarship, which closes on April 7, 2025.

**Disbursement times may vary due to external factors affecting awarding.

Wave 2 (Gap Scholarships)

  • Application Open: June 2, 2025

  • Application Close: December 1, 2025, or until funds are exhausted

  • Rolling Disbursement for students awarded funds
