Dr. Jason Monroe earned his PharmD from Texas Southern University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in May 2014 graduating Magna Cum Laude. Dr. Monroe was a proud graduate of Westside High School in Houston in 2003 before moving on to complete his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry with a minor in Music from Prairie View A&M University in 2007.A musician since age 11 years old, he was actively involved with the university jazz band serving as the piano leader, and he has frequently performed in churches and with other professional musicians. While he was accepted to the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, he chose to remain in Houston and continued his pursuit of a career in pharmacy. In addition to pursing his formal studies in Science and Music, he also indulged in his passion for golf by being a member of the university golf team. It was his love of golf that eventually led him to Texas Southern University on a golf scholarship in his final year of eligibility and subsequently led to his pursuit of the Doctor of Pharmacy program.Today, Dr. Monroe is a District Manager with CVS Health where he manages the performance and execution of 17 stores, both front store and pharmacy, in the southern region of Houston. He can often be seen bringing his engaging, energetic speaking style to Texas Southern University guest lectures, being a guest speaker to the pre-profession students within COPHS, working with the COPHS Admissions Committee, and interviewing P4 students for prospective positions with CVS Health. He continues to be an active and staunch supporter of Texas Southern and the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
