Industry professionals reviewed resumes for more than 300 students in Prairie View A&M University’s Roy G. Perry College of Engineering. The event, Engineering Professional Readiness, on September 4-5, 2019, featured professionals from ExxonMobil, Bechtel, Accenture, Daiken, Worley, and Chevron, to name a few. Along with the Resume Review and Critiquing Workshop, the college had an industry professional giving career fair preparation advice to students.

“I started planning for this event last summer, along with Glenda Jones in Career Services,” said COE Instructor Vewiser “VJ” Turner. “It was our goal to have these before the Fall Career Fair and STEM Town Event to allow our students to be better prepared and more successful when they spoke with industry reps.”

Turner is hoping to make Engineering Professional Readiness an annual event in the College of Engineering with more student and company participants in the future.
