Graduate Assistant Researchers (GAR)
Assignments may include assisting in faculty research, writing grant proposals, and performing grant related assignments.
Each assistant must be have a supervisor who will give guidance and assist the student in carrying out work assignments. The supervisor is responsible for assigning tasks, monitoring the progress of work, keeping a record of hours worked, and evaluating the performance of the student.
- Must be in good academic standing.
- Candidate should be enrolled in at least 9 credit hours of graduate courses per semester (Fall /Spring). (Summer enrollment requirements) (Requirements for students in Thesis/Dissertation Phase)
- Graduate Assistants (Research) may not work more than 50% effort = 20 hours per week.
Summer – All students must be enrolled for a minimum of six (6) credit hours of graduate courses for the Summer to be eligible for the Graduate Assistantship during the summer sessions.
