The Royce West Forum and Lecture Series is designed to increase the knowledge and skills of our students in psychology and criminal/juvenile justice, as well as provide juvenile justice and social service practitioners with information regarding the reduction of juvenile delinquency and crime and related social problems.   The Elephant in the Room: Suicide among Youth in Minority Communities will be held on  Friday, October 21, 2016 from 9:00 am – 12 pm at Don Clark Building Auditorium.  This program will feature Dr. Sean Joe, Benjamin E. Youngdahl Professor of Social Development  in George Warren Brown School of Social Work, Washington University- St. Louis, Dr. Rheeda Walker, Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Houston, and Ms. Toniya Parker, Acting  Suicide Prevention Officer/Acting GLS Project Director for the Texas Department of State Health Services.  Please contact Dr. Susan Frazier-Kouassi at (936) 261-5209 or  sfkouassi@pvamu.edu for additional information.
