This summer Marsja will be participating in a program hosted by Recovery Africa. Recovery Africa is a not for profit organization whose mission is to assist Ghana and other African countries develop organizations that effectively address addiction to alcohol and drugs by developing prevention, treatment and recovery programs which lead to meaningful and productive lives. Specifically, She will provide treatment at the House of St. Francis. She also will participate in formal classes conducted for the clients of the House of St. Francis; there are currently 30 residential clients at the HSF. The curriculum used is Recovery Dynamics as offered by The Kelly Foundation located in Little Rock, AR. The other formal learning experience will be training sessions for members of the existing Oxford Houses in Ghana.
