BASF Interview in Feb. 2017
January 27th Feb 3rd, Friday, Mr. James Schreiner, Sr. Laboratory Services Manager and Ms. Lauren Seward, one of HR Managers of BASF Corporation will be in the Chemistry Department to conduct interview for a few summer internship positions. In order to be hired, each student will need to apply on-line. Although the site is listed as Florham Park, NJ, these candidates will be viewable by any of the sites in North America. If we identify a candidate we want, then we will tie that individual to our intern request.
BASF is primarily interested in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering students and those should have preference. If time permits they can speak with other disciplines, but BASF does not directly have positions for the other disciplines.
Here are the two types of positions that BASF will be looking to fill:
Analyzer Technician Internship
Internship positions are available within the Freeport Laboratory Services organization working with our Process Analyzer Group on a variety of projects. The Interns will be involved in small projects that will benefit the Analyzer group that will include: validating P&ID for various sample systems, preparing drawings of sampling systems where P&ID does not exist, investigate new technologies for on-line analysis in process operations, assist in the development of maintenance and calibration programs for each of the process areas, and work with the analyzer technicians in their daily work activities.
Laboratory Technician Internship
The position will provide process development and laboratory support for the various production laboratory groups. The individual will work closely with the PD Chemist and laboratory technicians in the area. They will be involved in a variety of projects that may include development and validation of calibration procedures, support of production operations and be available for other projects.
