Dr. Sheena Reeves ASEE Gulf-Southwest Best Paper Award

  From March 16-18, 2022, the College of Engineering at PVAMU hosted the ASEE Gulf-Southwest Conference. Congratulations to PVAMU's Chemical Engineering Associate Professor,  Dr. Sheena Reeves, who was selected as the recipient of the Best Paper Award (paper titled "Factors Affecting the Success Rate of First Year Chemical Engineering Students").

AIChE Awards

Dr. Dada won the MAC 30th Anniversary Henry Brown Award for his leadership and advancement for minorities from pre-1990 through 2000 and Dr. Olanrewaju won the James Wei Award for broadening participation for minorities from 2011 through 2020. The awards were part of the 30th anniversary of MAC (Minority Affairs Committee).

NSF awardees: Dr. Michael Gyamerah and Dr. Lealon Martin

The National Science Foundation awarded $1.7M to Dr. Michael Gyamerah (PI) and Dr. Lealon Martin (Co-PI) with six Co-PIs from the College of Engineering to undertake research in “Transforming the Classroom into an Active Learning Environment to Improve Comprehension, Retention, and Graduation Rates” using a new teaching strategy the ” Formatively Assessed Student-Centered Instruction and Active Learning (FASCIAL) ” [...]
