The CAHS Difference

What is the CAHS Difference at Prairie View A&M University?

Family Environment

Our staff and faculty welcome you like family. This family oriented environment enables faculty to provide one-on-one mentoring and enhance your learning experience. Our faculty to student ratio is 14:1.

Scholarship and Internship Opportunities

Scholarships are available based on eligibility requirements and can range up to the full tuition of the program. Eligibility is determined for incoming freshmen and continuing students through the University Office of Financial Aid. The financial aid priority deadline is December 1 until applications close on February 15, 2020 (https://www.pvamu.edu/faid/financial-aid-news/). Students must first be admitted before they can apply for scholarships or financial aid. An established partnership with the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) allows excellent opportunities to obtain internships and scholarships giving you a competitive edge in the workplace.

Land Grant Institution

You will benefit from the mission of the college as the land grant arm of the university. Not only will you have classroom experience, but learn the importance of research and outreach through the Cooperative Agricultural Research Center, Cooperative Extension Program, and a 770-acre research and demonstration farm.

State-of-the-art Facilities

We recently moved into a new academic building and our College is co-located with the College of Business at the epicenter of the campus. This will give you a first rate educational experience. Also located on our farm is the International Goat Research Center. This area is also the home of our greenhouses, cattle facilities, new student-led garden, new meat laboratory, planned veterinary treatment facility, and many more exciting learning opportunities.
