Arionne Patterson, junior Agriculture major from Fresno, CA, is among 35 Prairie View A&M University students chosen to attend the grand opening of the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, DC, September 21-25. Paterson is a USDA 1890 Scholar and is very active in campus organizations and activities.

Students were selected by President George C. Wright and Dr. Felecia M. Nave based on grades, personality, character, communication skills and enthusiasm. “I want to be a motivating factor and a positive role model to encourage other students to break out of the norm and experience the endless possibilities there are when you realize your own potential through what the school has to offer,” said Patterson when asked how she felt about this historic and unique opportunity.
