The PVAMU community is mourning the loss of faculty member Dr. Evelyn Thornton who passed away on July 15. Thornton was a tenured professor of mathematics, mentor and inspiration to many during her service at Prairie View A&M University. She leaves a rich legacy of love and service that will remain etched into the hearts and minds of the Prairie View A&M University family.
Memorial services for Thornton are at 11 a.m. Thursday at Windsor Village United Methodist Church, the Kingdom Builders’ Center. The family has requested that donations be made to The Evelyn E. Thornton Legacy Endowment at Prairie View A&M University, in lieu of flowers.
The Visitation will be on the same day as the Service at 10:00 am
