Dr. Terence Hicks, a professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and Counseling, co-edited a book entitled “High School to College Transition Research Studies” with Dr. Chance Lewis. Lewis is the Carol Grotnes Belk Distinguished Professor of Urban Education at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and the Executive Director of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte’s Urban Education Collaborative.
The book offers two uniquely designed sections that discuss and address the transition from high school to college and some of the major efforts and interventions under way by various universities across the United States to improve college readiness, particularly among low-income and minority students.
