Greetings from the Hill!

I am honored and humbled to be your Director of Athletics.  As a Texan and the son and grandson of HBCU graduates, I understand the importance and historical significance of the mission to serve the underserved with an emphasis on teaching, research, and service. In fact, my grandmother graduated from Prairie View A&M University in the early 1930's.

Under my leadership, the PVAMU Athletics Department will indeed transform lives by educating our student-athletes with an emphasis on academic achievement, athletics excellence, personal development, and social responsibility, while sustaining a championship culture. Our student-athlete experience will provide the academic, athletic, personal, and professional development opportunities that will prepare them for an ever-changing global society.

Of course, I'd be remiss if I didn't commend Alicia Pete for her admirable leadership during our time of transition. Her tireless efforts, passion for our department, and commitment to our university have not gone unnoticed.

These are uncertain times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our top priority is the physical, mental, and emotional health and wellness of our student-athletes and staff.  We remain cautiously optimistic about the fall sports season and preparing for our students and student-athletes to return to campus safely.  

I believe that building a vibrant, engaged, and philanthropic community is essential to growing and sustaining a strong athletics program. My goals include being a university and athletics program ambassador to the alumni, faculty, staff, and the community. I will be actively involved with campus community, and alumni across the country to build strategic partnerships that contribute to academic achievement, competitive success, and sustainability of our athletics success.

I am extremely excited to be a part of Panther Nation! I look forward to meeting everyone soon.
