Established in 2011, The Chancellor’s Academy of Teacher Educators has honored faculty members of the Texas A&M University System who have a significant impact on the preparation of teachers in the field of education. Each year a cohort of exemplary educators are chosen, and from Prairie View A&M University’s Department of Biology, Cleveland O. Lane, Jr., Ph.D. has been awarded that honor. Dr. Lane received his honor on February 16, 2018, during the Chancellor’s Century Council Annual Meeting, receiving a commemorative medallion, a $1,000 stipend and a certificate honoring their commitment and dedication to educating the next generation of professionals.

Innovation, enthusiasm and exceptional creativity are a few driving factors Dr. Lane demonstrates in teaching which makes him an excellent Academy member.  He is currently dedicated over 21 years of service to the University in the academic areas of Anatomy and Physiology. As a proud alumnus of Prairie View A&M University, Dr. Lane expresses, “I am truly honored in receiving this award and representing PVAMU.  PVAMU has a rich history in preparing educators across this country.
