Lieutenant Colonel Elseroad

Executive Officer and Associate Professor of Naval Science

Lieutenant Colonel Elseroad is a native of Cloverly, MD.  He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Peace, War, and Defense with a second major in Geography.  He earned his commission via the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps in 2003 and, following The Basic School, was designated a Naval Aviator in 2005.

Lieutenant Colonel Elseroad holds a Master of Military Studies from Marine Corps University.

Lieutenant Colonel Elseroad’s company grade officer tours were with Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 363 (HMH-363) and as an instructor pilot at Marine Heavy Helicopter Training Squadron 302 (HMHT-302); flying the CH-53D and CH-53E respectively.  While at HMH-363, Lieutenant Colonel Elseroad deployed twice in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

As a field grade officer, Lieutenant Colonel Elseroad served as a faculty advisor at the Expeditionary Warfare School Blended Seminar Program at Camp Lejeune, NC and as a department head with Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 366 (HMH-366).  Lieutenant Colonel Elseroad joined the NROTC Houston Consortium in January 2018 and serves as the Executive Officer.

His personal decorations include the Air Medal with Strike/Flight Numeral 6, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal gold star in lieu of second award, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal gold star in lieu of third award, and he was the 2008 recipient of the General James L. Jones Safety Award.
